SUMMARY OF THE DEVELOPER’S HISTORY
Fontis Developments has successfully developed a total of nearly 130 000 sq/m of mall areas in diverse rural locations of South Africa, all of them proving to be hugely popular and of immense value and benefit to the local communities on the outlying areas of major cities of South Africa. As a Company dedicated to upliftment, they have also shown commitment to the plight of millions of citizens by developing multiple regional centres.
BACKGROUND TO THE MALL
Tafelkop is a town situated in the Sekhukhune District, part of the greater Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality in the Limpopo Province. It is a mere 23 km from the well-known town of Groblersdal, which is home to the second largest irrigation settlement in South Africa. The area is aptly named the fruit and bread basket of Limpopo and is also known as the Cultural Heartland of the Province. It is home to the rather colorful Ndebele Culture, who are recognized for their vibrant house paintings, gorgeous bead work and crafts that can be seen at numerous cultural villages in the region.
DEMOGRAPHICS
The Sekhukhune area is home to over a million residents with well over 700 rural villages, the rather limited transport infrastructure was one of the main driving forces for the envisaged Tafelkop Mall.
DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION
Fontis Developments, on completion of an in-depth study as to the population density and existing infrastructure in the area, realized the need for a one-stop shopping solution, providing the surrounding community with a central point of retail in a convenient and safe environment.
CONCLUSION
The Developer is certain that the retail center will be of great benefit to the local residents and will contribute greatly to upliftment of the community as a whole. This is truly an UBUNTU opportunity and the benefits to everyone speaks for itself.
